Multiple Production Machine Operators – Precast Concrete

Ramco Precast is an established South Australian manufacturer of precast concrete products for building, civil and landscaping projects. We are seeking an experienced Production Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team at our Lonsdale facility.

The position

The Production Machine Operator will operate and monitor machinery and equipment used in the manufacture, processing and preparation of precast concrete products. The role is responsible for maintaining efficient production, checking product quality and preparing completed products for dispatch.

Key responsibilities

1. Set up, operate and monitor production machinery and manufacturing equipment.
2. Calibrate equipment, monitor gauges and make operating adjustments as required.
3. Follow production specifications, work instructions and scheduled output requirements.
4. Inspect finished precast products and take samples for quality-control testing.
5. Identify product defects or equipment problems and report or correct issues promptly.
6. Perform routine cleaning and basic preventative maintenance to keep machinery in safe working order.
7. Assist with production-line assembly, processing and handling activities.
8. Label, package and prepare completed products for storage or dispatch.
9. Maintain accurate production, quality and maintenance records.
10. Follow workplace health and safety, manual-handling and environmental procedures.
11. Maintain a clean, organised and safe production area.
12. Work cooperatively with supervisors, quality personnel and other production employees.

Skills and experience

1. At least 1 years of relevant production or machine-operating experience.
2. Experience in precast concrete, concrete products, construction materials or a similar manufacturing environment is highly regarded.
3. Ability to set up, operate and make basic adjustments to production equipment.
4. Understanding of product inspection and quality-control procedures.
5. Ability to read work instructions, production schedules and safety documentation.
6. Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting ability.
7. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality products.
8. Ability to safely perform manual tasks associated with a manufacturing environment.
9. Reliable attendance and ability to work effectively as part of a production team.
10. Forklift, dogging, rigging, crane or other relevant licences are advantageous but not essential unless specified by Ramco.

2. Salary of $70,000 to $73,000 plus superannuation.
