About the Role

Ready to take the next step in your Occupational Therapy leadership journey? Here's your opportunity to lead, inspire and make a lasting impact!

An exciting opportunity awaits an experienced and motivated Senior Occupational Therapist to join our General Medicine team at Monash Medical Centre (MMC). This is a part time (0.4 EFT - 32hrs per fortnight), fixed term opportunity, until November 2027.

This is more than just a senior clinical role. It's an opportunity to shape clinical practice, empower your colleagues and influence how Occupational Therapy services are delivered across a busy and diverse inpatient environment. Working in a job share arrangement alongside another senior clinician, you'll provide clinical and professional leadership to our General Medicine Occupational Therapy team while maintaining a hands-on clinical presence. Together, you'll foster a supportive, collaborative environment where clinicians can grow, new ideas are encouraged and high-quality patient care remains at the heart of everything we do.

What will you be doing?

  • Provide expert Occupational Therapy assessment, intervention and complex discharge planning for patients with diverse medical needs.
  • Lead, mentor and inspire Occupational Therapy clinicians, supporting their professional growth and confidence.
  • Champion quality improvement, innovation and meaningful service change.
  • Contribute to broader Occupational Therapy leadership across Monash Medical Centre, Moorabbin Hospital and the Victorian Heart Hospital.
  • Support clinical governance, workforce development, supervision and education.
  • Build strong multidisciplinary partnerships to deliver safe, timely and person-centred care.

About You

You're an experienced clinician who's ready to make an impact beyond your own caseload. You bring the clinical expertise to navigate complex patient presentations, the confidence to lead through change and, most importantly, a genuine passion for helping others succeed. You're someone who sees opportunities where others see challenges, enjoys bringing people together and understands that great leadership is about empowering those around you.

You'll bring:

  • Extensive acute hospital experience, particularly within General Medicine and complex discharge planning.
  • Strong clinical reasoning and the confidence to manage complex and competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with a passion for mentoring, coaching and developing others.
  • Experience contributing to quality improvement, service development and change initiatives.
  • The ability to build trusted relationships and influence positive outcomes across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
  • A commitment to evidence-based practice, continuous learning and exceptional patient care.

If you're passionate about clinical excellence, developing people and helping shape the future of Occupational Therapy services, we'd love to hear from you!
