Ocean Freight Supervisor

Key Responsibilities

• To direct your team to complete operational activities in line with our global standard operating procedures (SOP), our service promise and regulatory compliance procedures while ensuring your team develops, maintains and achieves ocean freight productivity targets.
• To ensure that all relevant quality KPIs are met or overachieved on a consistent basis. 
• To drive gross profit maximization at a team level, ensuring the team delivers as expected while improving productivity. 
• To build close business relationships with existing clients, seeking potential upsell opportunities, conduct regular customer contact to achieve a high and consistent level of customer contact to achieve a high and consistent level of customer retention while acting as the first point of contact for irregularities with the customers, suppliers or within the network.
• To ensure your team implements all necessary regulatory compliance procedures relating to commodity and locations for shipments.
• To proactively monitor performance via a variety of best practice tools to improve operational performance and create efficiencies by identifying and implementing process improvement opportunities.

Key Accountabilities:

·         To proactively oversee team to ensure customer satisfaction at every touchpoint, fostering loyalty and driving repeat business.

·         To ensure that your team is actively minimizing cost on every job file and maximising gross profit on every job file.

·         To provide training and guidance as needed and/or directed by your manager to ensure team success.

·         To resolve issues with operational workflow and/or based on customer feedback, only escalating to your manager when unable to do so.

To be successful you will need:

All employees are expected to demonstrate our core behavioural dimensions to be successful.

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience as Supervisor Ocean Freight
• CargoWise experience (advantageous)
• Full Australian right to work
