An exciting 12-month contract opportunity has become available for an experienced Payroll Officer to join a large national not-for-profit organisation with operations across multiple Australian states.Supporting a large and diverse workforce, this role will see you contribute to the delivery of accurate and compliant payroll services while working within a collaborative, supportive and values-driven environment.
Your New RoleReporting to the Payroll Manager, you will support day-to-day payroll operations and play an important role in ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.Key responsibilities include:
- Processing payroll transactions and maintaining employee records.
- Managing commencements, terminations and employment variations.
- Processing leave, allowances, deductions and superannuation transactions.
- Conducting payroll validations and quality checks.
- Supporting payroll reconciliations and reporting activities.
- Responding to employee payroll enquiries.
- Assisting with year-end payroll activities and compliance requirements.
- Supporting payroll process improvement initiatives.
What You'll Need to SucceedTo be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience working within an end-to-end payroll environment.
- Knowledge of awards, enterprise agreements and payroll legislation.
- Strong payroll systems skills and confidence using Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to manage competing deadlines and priorities.
- Experience working within complex workforce environments will be highly regarded.
