Prospero Teaching is proud to be partnering with a highly regarded independent school to appoint an outstanding Phase Co-ordinator & Teacher (Junior School) for a full-time leadership position commencing January 2027.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced primary educator and aspiring or established middle leader to join a high-performing school community committed to academic excellence, student wellbeing, and innovative teaching practices.
The successful candidate will lead and coordinate programs across Years 3 and 4, while maintaining a classroom teaching load. The leadership component of the role is offered on a three-year fixed-term appointment, with the teaching position offered on a permanent full-time basis.
The Opportunity
Join a collaborative Junior School leadership team where you will:
- Lead and coordinate the wellbeing, curriculum, learning, and administration across Years 3 and 4
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing learning culture
- Support students through strong pastoral care and wellbeing practices
- Work closely with other Phase Co-ordinators and Junior School leaders to ensure consistency across year levels
- Build positive partnerships with students, families, and staff
- Support curriculum implementation aligned with the Australian Curriculum and inquiry-based learning frameworks
- Coordinate year-level events, activities, camps, and excursions
- Mentor and support teachers within the phase
- Maintain a classroom teaching load within the Junior School
About You
You are a highly skilled educator and relational leader who:
- Holds relevant teaching qualifications
- Is QCT registered (or eligible)
- Has demonstrated success teaching in a primary school setting
- Possesses leadership experience or the capability to step into a middle leadership position
- Designs engaging, evidence-informed learning experiences
- Uses data, assessment, and feedback to drive student growth
- Creates inclusive and well-managed classroom environments
- Builds strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues
- Demonstrates excellent organisational and communication skills
- Has experience with, or a strong understanding of, inquiry-based learning and the PYP framework (highly regarded)
