Our client is a global industrial organisation specialising in the processing and distribution of advanced materials and chemicals. Operating within a technically complex environment, they are focused on maintaining high-performance operations, delivering consistent product quality, and driving continuous improvement across their manufacturing processes.
They are currently seeking an experienced Plant Engineer to join their Engineering team on a full-time basis.
What you’ll be doing
• Maintaining plant and equipment performance to maximise efficiency and product quality
• Managing capital and maintenance projects, ensuring delivery on time and within budget
• Supporting plant operations with engineering and technical expertise
• Conducting energy usage reviews and driving improvements in efficiency
• Coordinating and supporting planned maintenance activities and shutdowns
• Completing and overseeing inspections including tanks, combustion audits and LDAR programs
• Managing major cleaning and maintenance operations across critical plant infrastructure
• Issuing permits (confined space, hot works, excavation, heights, etc.)
• Creating and reviewing SWMS, JSA’s and risk assessments
• Investigating and reporting safety and environmental incidents
• Participating in safety, environmental and operational meetings and continuous improvement programs
What we’re looking for
• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
• Demonstrated experience in a plant or heavy industrial environment
• Strong understanding of maintenance systems, plant operations and project delivery
• Ability to lead and guide small technical teams
• Solid knowledge of safety systems, risk management and compliance requirements
• Effective communication and stakeholder coordination skills
• Experience in process environments (e.g. distillation or similar) highly regarded
• Project management experience desirable
• Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
