Plant Operators & Construction Officers - Local Council
Multiple Opportunities | 4-Day Week | Tuesday - Friday | $36-$39.40 per hour
Spinifex Recruiting is currently seeking experienced Plant Operators and Construction Officers to join a local council's Utilities Construction team.
These are great opportunities for experienced operators and civil construction workers looking for stable, ongoing work with local government, a consistent 4-day working week, and the opportunity to work as part of a professional Utilities team.
Positions Available
Specialist Plant Operator - Backhoe
- $39.40 per hour
- Grade 6
- Must have demonstrated experience and competency operating a Backhoe
- Experience operating other plant such as tipper trucks and front-end loaders highly regarded
- Physical labouring duties also involved
- Approx. 2-month engagement, maybe longer
Construction Officer - Utilities Construction
- $36-$38 per hour, depending on experience
- Grade 4-5
- MR Licence essential
- Ongoing opportunity
- Previous experience in civil construction, water and wastewater infrastructure highly regarded
- Backhoe and other plant operating experience highly desirable
The Work
Working as part of the Utilities Construction team, you will assist with the construction, maintenance and repair of water and wastewater infrastructure.
Duties may include:
- Operating backhoes and other relevant plant and machinery
- Civil construction and general labouring
- Construction and maintenance of water and wastewater infrastructure
- Supporting pipeline, manhole, valve pit and pump station works
- Assisting with the water hydrant maintenance program
- Loading, unloading and transporting materials
- General site maintenance and manual handling
- Working safely as part of a team in a field-based environment
What We're Looking For
We are keen to hear from candidates who have a background in civil construction, utilities, local council works or plant operation.
Essential:
- Relevant plant operating experience and tickets for Plant Operator positions
- MR Driver Licence for Construction Officer positions
- White Card
- Experience performing physical labouring duties
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- Current Hepatitis A & B immunisation, or willingness to participate in an immunisation program
Highly regarded:
- Backhoe operating experience
- Experience with tipper trucks, front-end loaders or other civil plant
- Water and wastewater construction experience
- Previous pipe laying experience
- Confined Spaces ticket
- Basic mechanical knowledge
