Your new company
An exciting opportunity to join a Queensland Government department in a portfolio responsible for delivering and managing significant infrastructure investment programs that support communities across the state. Based in Brisbane CBD, this team is driving a major business transformation program focused on strengthening governance, portfolio management, financial oversight and organisational capability.
Your new role
As Principal Program Officer, you will play a key role within the Transformation Management Office, supporting the governance, coordination and oversight of a complex transformation portfolio. Working closely with senior stakeholders, program leads and project teams, you will provide high-level portfolio governance, reporting, planning and assurance support to enable informed decision-making and successful delivery outcomes.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating portfolio governance, planning and assurance activities.
- Preparing executive-level reports, briefing papers, presentations and governance documentation.
- Monitoring portfolio risks, issues, dependencies, changes and assurance actions.
- Consolidating program and project information into accurate and timely portfolio reporting.
- Analysing portfolio performance, financial information and delivery milestones.
- Supporting portfolio planning, prioritisation and resource management activities.
- Building strong relationships with executives, business owners and delivery teams.
- Facilitating meetings, coordinating stakeholder inputs and driving action outcomes.
- Contributing to continuous improvement of governance processes, tools and reporting frameworks
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Significant experience in portfolio, program or project management environments.
- Strong governance, reporting, planning, risk and assurance experience.
- Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to produce executive-level documentation.
- Highly developed analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of contemporary portfolio, program and project management methodologies.
- Experience within government or complex organisational environments will be highly regarded.
- Experience using tools such as Power BI, SharePoint and Excel is advantageous
