Your new company
Hays is partnering with a large Federal Government agency seeking an experienced Principal Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and support of critical cloud and data platforms.
This is an opportunity to work at scale, driving cloud engineering, DevOps, and infrastructure modernisation initiatives that support nationally significant services. You'll work closely with technical teams and business stakeholders, providing technical leadership across complex cloud environments and helping shape the direction of future platform capabilities.
Your new role
- Lead the design, deployment, and support of cloud and data infrastructure.
- Drive DevOps adoption and continuous delivery practices.
- Provide technical leadership across complex project initiatives.
- Prioritise and manage engineering workstreams to deliver key outcomes.
- Work closely with stakeholders to define requirements and deliver solutions.
- Ensure solutions align with integration and cloud best practices.
- Contribute within an agile delivery environment.
What you'll need to succeed
You will bring strong experience across:
- AWS cloud infrastructure and services.
- Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
- DevOps tooling including GitLab, GitHub, Artifactory and Jira.
- CI/CD pipeline development and automation.
- Kubernetes and Docker.
- Python, JavaScript and/or Golang development.
- Git version control and Agile delivery practices.
Highly regarded experience includes:
- PostgreSQL and MySQL administration.
- Azure infrastructure.
- Cloud networking.
- HashiCorp Vault.
