We are currently seeking a dynamic Production Engineer to join our production team and enhance our production efficiency

Key Duties and Responsibilities

1. Production System Design and Integration

Analyse existing and proposed production processes and develop engineering solutions for the integration of food processing, portioning, coating, conveying, packaging and associated production equipment into coordinated manufacturing systems.

2. Equipment Installation and Commissioning

Provide engineering support for the procurement, installation, commissioning and validation of new production machinery and automated processing equipment. Develop technical specifications, commissioning procedures and acceptance criteria to ensure equipment meets operational and production requirements.

3. Production Line Balancing and Capacity Optimisation

Analyse equipment cycle times, production speeds, throughput, buffer capacity and material flow across different stages of production. Identify production bottlenecks and develop engineering solutions to improve line balancing, capacity utilisation and overall production efficiency.

4. Automation and Control System Integration

Evaluate and optimise sensors, electronic control components, machine interfaces and automated equipment used throughout the production system. Investigate communication and integration issues between individual machines and recommend technical modifications to improve system coordination and reliability.

5. Engineering Testing and Performance Analysis

Develop and conduct structured engineering tests to assess equipment and production system performance under different operating conditions. Analyse equipment speed, production output, downtime, reject rates, process stability and other engineering performance indicators.

6. Fault Investigation and Reliability Engineering

Investigate recurring equipment and system failures using engineering analysis and root-cause investigation techniques. Develop corrective and preventive engineering solutions to reduce unplanned downtime and improve equipment and production-system reliability.

7. Production Data Analysis and Monitoring Systems

Develop engineering monitoring and reporting systems to collect and analyse production data, including throughput, equipment utilisation, downtime, production losses, reject rates and other operational parameters. Develop dashboards and analytical tools to support engineering and production decisions.

8. Process and Equipment Improvement

Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and equipment configurations and recommend technical modifications to improve productivity, product consistency, operational reliability and manufacturing efficiency.

9. Engineering Risk and Failure Analysis

Conduct engineering risk assessments and failure-mode analysis for production machinery and integrated manufacturing systems. Identify potential equipment or system failure modes and develop appropriate mitigation and preventive measures.

10. New Equipment and Technology Evaluation

Assess new production equipment, automation technologies and engineering solutions. Review technical specifications and supplier proposals and provide engineering recommendations regarding equipment suitability, compatibility, capacity and integration with existing production systems.

11. Technical Documentation and Engineering Standards

Prepare and maintain engineering specifications, system diagrams, testing procedures, commissioning records, equipment performance reports, technical change documentation and preventive engineering requirements.

12. Cross-functional Engineering Support

Work with production, maintenance, quality, procurement and equipment suppliers to implement engineering projects and production-system improvements while ensuring technical changes meet operational, food manufacturing and workplace safety requirements.
