We are seeking multiple Production Operators to support our turf production, product handling, quality control and dispatch activities.
About the role
You will operate and monitor machinery and equipment used to prepare turf products for supply. Working with the production team, you will help maintain efficient operations, check product quality, care for equipment and prepare customer orders for dispatch.
Key responsibilities
·Set up, operate and monitor machinery used for turf cutting, rolling, handling and preparation for dispatch.
·Check and calibrate equipment settings, including cutting dimensions and thickness, to meet production specifications.
·Monitor machine controls, gauges and product output, making authorised adjustments to maintain consistent quality and minimise waste.
·Conduct pre-start inspections, identify equipment faults and report mechanical or safety concerns.
·Establish and follow routine equipment cleaning and maintenance schedules, completing basic servicing within your training and authority.
·Inspect and sample turf products to check dimensions, thickness, condition and consistency against quality requirements.
·Identify and separate damaged or non-conforming turf and report quality issues to the supervisor.
·Prepare turf products for dispatch, including counting, stacking, palletising, securing and labelling orders as required.
·Check completed orders against dispatch instructions and assist with loading using equipment you are trained and authorised to operate.
·Maintain production, quality inspection, cleaning and maintenance records.
·Follow workplace safety procedures, including safe manual handling, machinery isolation and the use of personal protective equipment.
About you
·Relevant experience operating machinery in production, processing, turf, agriculture or a comparable environment.
·Practical ability to set up equipment, monitor operating conditions and make adjustments within established procedures.
·Experience conducting product quality checks and identifying defects or inconsistencies.
·Ability to perform routine equipment cleaning, basic maintenance and pre-start checks.
·Ability to follow production instructions, complete records and work accurately.
·A sound understanding of safe machinery operation and workplace safety.
·Ability to carry out the physical requirements of the role safely and work in an outdoor production environment.
·Reliable attendance, clear communication and the ability to work cooperatively with others.
Experience with turf production equipment and relevant machinery or forklift licences will be highly regarded. Any equipment requiring a licence must only be operated by appropriately licensed personnel.
