About the Company
Our client is a well-established specialist contractor on the Northern Gold Coast. They deliver tailored mechanical and structural infrastructure solutions for industrial clients across Australia and New Zealand. With more than 15 years of steady growth, they’re known for technical expertise, custom engineered solutions and reliable delivery.
Everything is done in house, including engineering, drafting, design and site delivery. A strong pipeline of national work means they’re growing the team and need a capable Estimator to help win the next round of projects.

About the Role
You’ll be the go-to person for pricing new industrial construction projects from $1m to $7m and maintenance work from $50k to $500k. You’ll work closely with the Operations Manager, project managers and in-house engineers to turn scopes and drawings into accurate, competitive estimates.

This role suits a structured thinker who enjoys building a quote properly in Excel and brings plenty of practical common sense. Your estimates will directly shape the work the business wins and delivers.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for new build and maintenance projects using structured Excel models
• Review scopes, specifications and drawings to understand project requirements
• Complete quantity take-offs and price labour, materials, plant and subcontractors
• Request and assess quotes from suppliers and subcontractors, and build a strong supplier network
• Prepare tender submissions, pricing schedules and clarifications
• Price variations and changes of scope for live projects
• Work with engineering and project teams to make sure estimates are practical and buildable
• Hand projects over clearly to the delivery team when they’re awarded
• Maintain cost databases and help improve estimating processes

About You

• 3+ years’ experience as an Estimator in mechanical, structural, fabrication or industrial construction
• Advanced Excel skills with a highly organised, structured approach
• Experience pricing Lump Sum, Schedule of Rates or Cost Plus work
• Able to read drawings and interpret technical scopes
• Strong common sense and attention to detail
• Confident sourcing suppliers and negotiating pricing
• A trade background or industrial sector experience (power, resources, process) is a bonus
• A clear communicator who works well with engineers, PMs and clients
