About the role

We are seeking organised professionals to join our Commonwealth Government client as a Records Management Officer at the APS4 level. This role is suited to applicants who can apply judgement to ensure work is completed accurately and work cooperatively within a structured team environment.

An initial 3-month labour hire contract is on offer with possible extension up to 3 months. This full-time opportunity is available to candidates who can work on-site in Perth, WA.

Please note: only Australian citizens can be considered for this role.

Duties:
 

  • Support the management of physical records, including updating work processes, maintaining accurate inventories and assisting with records enquiries.
  • Assist with reviewing, sentencing, listing and preparing case, corporate and other files for offsite storage or archival transfer.
  • Coordinate file retrievals, collections and movements with internal teams and offsite storage providers.
  • Contribute to reporting on physical records held onsite and offsite, including supporting internal records management audits.
  • Assist with team planning, reporting, section projects and responding to requests for assistance as required.

Requisite skills/experience:
 

  • Sound understanding of records management legislation, policies and standards.
  • Experience in case and corporate file management, including working with offsite storage providers.
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to provide clear records management advice.
  • Sound judgement and the ability to accurately apply records management policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to support process improvements and contribute to efficient, high-quality services.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
