RECOVERY SUPPORT WORKERPERMANENT FULL TIME
IPSWICH
Your Next Role!
A place to call home. A sense of belonging. A chance to build a brighter future. For someone experiencing housing insecurity and mental health challenges, finding a safe and stable place to live can be life changing. But finding a home is only part of the journey. It's having the confidence, skills and support to make it their own.
At Richmond Fellowship Queensland (RFQ), we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to feel safe, connected and hopeful about their future. We're looking for a passionate and compassionate Recovery Support Worker to join our Housing Support Program in Ipswich on a permanent full-time basis.
In this role, you'll walk alongside people experiencing housing insecurity and mental health challenges, helping them find and maintain stable housing, build everyday living skills and strengthen their connections within the community.
From helping someone navigate the challenges of securing a home to celebrating the small milestones that build independence, you'll play a meaningful role in helping people create lasting stability and move forward in their recovery.
No two days will look the same, but your work could include:
- Supporting individuals to explore housing options, secure stable accommodation and maintain sustainable tenancies.
- Helping people build practical everyday living skills, from managing a household to overcoming challenges that come with independent living.
- Working alongside individuals to identify personal recovery goals and take meaningful steps towards achieving them.
- Building trusting, supportive relationships that encourage confidence, choice and independence.
- Connecting individuals with mental health services, welfare support, peer networks and community resources to strengthen their long-term wellbeing.
- Collaborating with housing providers, mental health services and community organisations to achieve positive, lasting outcomes.
If you believe everyone deserves the opportunity to build a life they feel proud of, this could be the role for you.
You will need:
- A qualification in a human services related field, with at least one year of relevant experience, or substantial relevant experience supported by other qualifications.
- Demonstrated experience supporting people experiencing mental health challenges, with an understanding of person-centred recovery practices.
- Experience in housing or homelessness support will be highly regarded.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with clients, colleagues and community partners.
- A compassionate, respectful approach, with sound professional boundaries and a strong sense of integrity.
- A valid driver's licence and access to a registered, roadworthy and insured vehicle (minimum third-party property insurance).
