Auto One Liverpool provides an extensive range of automotive parts, accessories, tools and related products. We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Retail Buyer to manage purchasing and product selection for our Peps Liverpool store.

About the Role

As Retail Buyer, you will be responsible for selecting and purchasing automotive parts, accessories and related products for resale.

Working closely with management, suppliers and the store team, you will analyse sales performance, stock levels, market trends and customer demand to determine appropriate product ranges and purchasing requirements.

The role requires strong commercial judgement, supplier negotiation skills and an understanding of inventory requirements within a retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will include:

·Researching, selecting and purchasing automotive parts, accessories and related products for resale;

·Monitoring sales performance, inventory levels, stock turnover and market trends to identify purchasing requirements;

·Analysing customer demand and product performance to determine the quantity, range and quality of goods to be purchased;

·Sourcing and evaluating suppliers and products based on price, quality, availability, delivery performance and commercial terms;

·Negotiating purchase prices, supply arrangements, promotional purchases and trading terms with suppliers;

·Developing and maintaining effective relationships with suppliers and distribution centres;

·Reviewing supplier performance and addressing purchasing, delivery or product-related issues where required;

·Establishing purchasing plans in accordance with sales forecasts, seasonal demand, stock requirements and business budgets;

·Monitoring aged stock, slow-moving products and stock shortages and adjusting purchasing decisions accordingly;

·Working with management to develop pricing, product range and promotional strategies;

·Liaising with the Store Manager and sales team regarding customer demand, product availability, pricing and promotional activities;

·Maintaining accurate purchase orders, purchasing records, supplier information and inventory data using the company's inventory and ERP systems; and

·Preparing purchasing and stock performance information for management as required.

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this position, you will have:

·At least 1 year of relevant experience in buying, purchasing, procurement, inventory management or a closely related field;

·Demonstrated experience in product selection, purchasing and stock management within a retail or similar commercial environment;

·Strong numerical and analytical skills, including the ability to interpret sales and inventory data;

·Demonstrated supplier negotiation and relationship management skills;

·Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple purchasing priorities;

·Good computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and experience using inventory, purchasing or ERP systems;

·Strong written and verbal communication skills; and

·The ability to work collaboratively with management, suppliers and retail team members.

Experience within the automotive parts and accessories industry, including automotive product knowledge and electronic catalogue systems, will be highly regarded but is not essential.

·Strong numerical and analytical skills, including the ability to interpret sales and inventory data;

·Demonstrated supplier negotiation and relationship management skills;

·Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple purchasing priorities;

·Good computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and experience using inventory, purchasing or ERP systems;

·Strong written and verbal communication skills; and

·The ability to work collaboratively with management, suppliers and retail team members.
