About the Role
JAY KUBER AUSTRALIA PTY LTD trading as DEEBEE'S DELI is seeking an experienced and motivated Retail Manager to join our team in Broken Hill, NSW.
This is a full-time position responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our retail grocery and convenience store. The successful candidate will manage store operations, supervise staff, maintain appropriate stock levels, drive sales performance, deliver excellent customer service, and contribute to the efficient and profitable operation of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and manage the store's product range and maintain appropriate stock levels according to customer demand and sales trends.
- Develop and implement purchasing, pricing and promotional strategies to maximise sales and profitability.
- Monitor stock levels, coordinate ordering and liaise with suppliers to ensure the timely supply of products.
- Manage inventory control, conduct stocktakes and minimise stock loss and wastage.
- Monitor sales performance, analyse sales trends and prepare operational reports.
- Manage store budgets, operating costs and financial performance.
- Recruit, train, supervise and manage retail staff, including allocating duties and preparing work schedules.
- Monitor staff performance and provide ongoing training and guidance.
- Maintain high standards of customer service and effectively manage customer enquiries, feedback and complaints.
- Maintain appropriate standards of merchandising, product presentation, cleanliness and overall store appearance.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements and relevant store procedures.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve sales, customer satisfaction and overall business performance.
About You
To be considered for this position, you should have:
- A Diploma in Retail Management, Business Management or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- At least one (1) year of relevant experience in retail management or a similar supervisory or management role.
- Sound knowledge of retail operations, inventory management, purchasing and sales.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to analyse sales performance and make effective operational decisions.
- Strong organisational, problem-solving and time-management skills.
- Ability to independently manage the day-to-day operations of a busy retail store.
- Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays as required.
