Are you an experienced Risk & Compliance professional looking to take ownership of a broad compliance function within a highly regarded professional services organisation?This is an exceptional opportunity to join an established legal firm and play a key role in strengthening risk, governance and compliance frameworks across a complex and highly regulated environment. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will act as a trusted adviser on regulatory compliance, AML/CTF obligations, governance, privacy and risk management while helping to drive strategic compliance initiatives across the business.
This is a broad and highly visible role that combines operational compliance management with strategic leadership responsibilities.You will partner with leaders across the business to provide practical, commercially focused advice on a wide range of risk and compliance matters while ensuring ongoing adherence to regulatory, legal and professional obligations. The role also serves as the designated AML/CTF Compliance Officer and will play a key role in supporting compliance frameworks, governance initiatives, audit activities and continuous improvement programs.
Your new role
Risk & Compliance

• Provide risk and compliance advice to senior stakeholders across the organisation.
• Develop, review and enhance risk management and compliance frameworks.
• Maintain risk registers and coordinate risk reporting activities.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and assess organisational impacts.
• Lead compliance training and awareness programs.
• Manage conflicts of interest processes, governance registers and compliance obligations.
• Support audit activities, policy development and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to business continuity, resilience and compliance framework projects.

AML/CTF Compliance Officer

• Oversee compliance with AML/CTF legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct risk assessments and maintain AML/CTF compliance programs.
• Manage compliance reporting and regulatory obligations.
• Act as the key contact for regulatory enquiries and compliance reviews.
• Deliver AML/CTF training and support ongoing regulatory readiness.

Governance & Strategy

• Support the development and implementation of risk and compliance strategy.
• Enhance governance frameworks and reporting processes.
• Coordinate internal and external audits.
• Drive continuous improvement and regulatory best practice initiatives.

What you'll need to succeed

• Significant experience in risk, compliance, governance or regulatory affairs.
• Experience operating within legal, professional services, financial services or other highly regulated environments.
• Strong understanding of compliance frameworks, governance and risk management principles.
• Experience managing AML/CTF obligations and regulatory compliance activities.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
• Strong policy development, reporting and analytical capabilities.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in law, compliance, risk management or a related discipline.
• Desirable qualifications include ICA, ACAMS or similar professional compliance certifications.
