Senior Accountant

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Accountant with a solid accounting and bookkeeping experience to join our small but dedicated team. You will work directly with clients and the Principal to manage a broad portfolio of accounting and tax compliance work. This role suits someone who thrives in a varied, client-facing environment, is comfortable rolling up their sleeves, and enjoys working closely with small business owners.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare complex financial statements, income tax returns, and activity statements (BAS/IAS) for companies, trusts, partnerships, self- managed superannuation funds (SMSFs), and high-net-worth individuals

• Own and manage a direct portfolio of small-to-medium enterprise (SME) clients, acting as a primary day-to-day point of contact

• Complete BAS, IAS, and payroll tax lodgements accurately and on time

•Perform bookkeeping and reconciliations for a portfolio of small business clients

•Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll processing

•Prepare financial statements and management reports for SME clients

•Assist with month-end and year-end close processes across multiple client files

•Liaise with clients to gather information, answer queries, and provide practical financial guidance

• Set up and maintain client files in Xero, MYOB, or QuickBooks

•Support the Principal with advisory work and client meetings where appropriate

•Assist junior staff and provide on-the-job guidance as the team grows
