Senior Associate or Principal Investor – Venture Capital

We are partnering with one of Australia’s “Big Three” venture capital firms, renowned for its track record of identifying and backing some of the country’s most successful technology businesses. With a global investment mandate spanning Australia & New Zealand, Israel and Southeast Asia, the firm works closely with exceptional founders to build category-defining companies and shape the future of technology.

We are seeking an Investor at the Senior Associate / Junior Principal level to join the investment team, working closely with the firm’s global Partners to identify and evaluate compelling early-stage investment opportunities across Australia and New Zealand. The role will span the full investment process, from developing investment theses and building relationships with founders through to conducting due diligence, analysing businesses and presenting investment recommendations to the investment committee. A key focus will be identifying exceptional founders and businesses at an early stage, often before product-market fit has been established, requiring the ability to form strong commercial opinions in situations where there may be limited data or established benchmarks. You will also play an active role in engaging with the broader technology ecosystem, developing relationships with founders and industry leaders, and identifying emerging trends and opportunities.

Ideally, candidates will have prior venture capital or investing experience, although this is not a prerequisite. We are equally interested in commercially minded individuals from investment banking, management consulting, law or high-growth technology businesses, particularly those who have demonstrated an ability to take ownership, solve problems and drive outcomes in entrepreneurial environments. Candidates coming from growth-stage investing will also be considered, provided they have a genuine appetite for early-stage investing and working with businesses at the pre-product-market-fit stage.

Above all, we are looking for someone with exceptional commercial judgement, demonstrable hustle and a genuine passion for technology. You will need to be highly analytical, intellectually curious and comfortable forming independent views in situations where information is incomplete and conventional metrics may not yet exist. AI fluency is expected, alongside an ownership mindset, a bias to action and the ability to operate with initiative in a fast-paced, high-performance environment. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative approach will also be important.
