What would I be doing?
As the Senior Direct Support Worker you will be responsible for overseeing, coordinating and providing support to people to access and live in the accommodation of their choice, actively promote independence and choice and assist individuals to develop networks and supports which will enable them to participate as valued members of their community.
This could include:
Provide on shift guidance and support to Direct Support Workers, identify daily priorities and delegate tasks to ensure optimal Service delivery.
- Provides support and assistance to individuals to help them live the live they choose such as personal care (e.g. bathing, toileting, dressing, eating and taking of medication) manual handling and general support.
- Support our clients with scheduling appointments and activities with health and other professionals.

What you’ll need
- Experience in service delivery requirements of group center based programs and supported independent living.
- Confidence to act as a role model and team leader.
- Familiar with care plans, medical documentation and reporting processes.
- Excellent communication skills, liaise with management in order to optimise response time on time sensitive issues.
- Flexibility to a work pattern that spans Ballina and Byron Bay
- NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check.
- Current Nationally accredited First Aid and CPR.
