I'm currently partnering with a high-performing technology delivery team seeking an experienced VMware Engineer  to play a key role in delivering complex cloud and infrastructure solutions across secure enterprise environments. This is an opportunity for a technically strong infrastructure professional who enjoys working directly with stakeholders, solving challenging problems, and leading the design, deployment, and support of modern VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) platforms. You'll be joining a team that delivers mission-critical solutions where reliability, security, and operational excellence are paramount.

The Opportunity

In this role, you will act as a trusted technical advisor, supporting the full project lifecycle from discovery and design through implementation and ongoing operational support. You'll work across modern infrastructure platforms, helping organisations modernise and optimise their environments through VMware Cloud Foundation and associated technologies. This position offers a blend of project delivery, technical leadership, stakeholder engagement, and high-level troubleshooting within secure and complex environments. This is an Onsite role, hybrid work is not available 

Key Responsibilities

• Lead discovery workshops, technical assessments, and solution design activities.
• Design, deploy, and support VMware Cloud Foundation environments.
• Manage platform lifecycle activities including upgrades, patching, automation, and optimisation.
• Provide Level 3 support across infrastructure, virtualisation, and cloud platforms.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across compute, storage, networking, identity, and backup technologies.
• Develop high-quality technical documentation including solution designs, implementation plans, operational runbooks, and handover material.
• Engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders to provide recommendations and drive successful outcomes.
• Support business-critical environments with a focus on security, resilience, and operational stability.

About You

You are a senior infrastructure engineer or consultant with extensive experience delivering enterprise-scale virtualisation and cloud solutions. You are comfortable working in secure environments, engaging with stakeholders, and taking ownership of complex technical outcomes.

Essential Experience

• 5+ years' experience in infrastructure engineering, cloud platforms, consulting, or enterprise technology delivery.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
  • VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)
  • VMware vSphere
  • vSAN
  • NSX
  • VMware Aria Suite / Automation
• Solid understanding of:
  • Windows Server
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
  • Active Directory
  • DNS & DHCP
  • PKI
  • Backup and Disaster Recovery solutions
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience supporting highly available, mission-critical, or secure enterprise environments.
• Current NV1 security clearance (or higher) is mandatory.

Highly Regarded

• VMware certifications including VCP-DCV and/or VCP-NV.
• Hands-on VMware Cloud Foundation implementation experience.
• Experience working within Defence, Federal Government, or other highly secure environments.
