Senior Environmental Officer opportunity supporting a major transport infrastructure project on the Gold Coast
Your New CompanyJoin a leading public infrastructure organisation delivering one of South East Queensland's most significant transport projects. Working within a high-performing project team, you will play a key role in supporting the environmental planning, approvals and delivery of a major road infrastructure program across the Gold Coast region.
Your New RoleReporting to the Project Manager, you will provide specialist environmental advice and support throughout the planning, design and delivery phases of a major transport infrastructure project. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing expert advice on environmental legislation, compliance requirements and environmental management obligations.
- Supporting the delivery of Commonwealth and State environmental approvals and environmental offset programs.
- Reviewing project designs, environmental assessments, surveys, spatial data, environmental reports and contract documentation.
- Coordinating environmental offset activities and project land management requirements.
- Building effective relationships with internal stakeholders, government agencies, consultants and industry representatives.
- Preparing high-quality reports, briefings, correspondence and project documentation.
- Representing the project at meetings, working groups and stakeholder forums.
What You'll Need to SucceedTo be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- A degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, Natural Resource Management or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and approval processes, including the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act).
- Experience providing environmental advice on infrastructure, transport, construction or major project environments.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
