Your new role

  • Managing month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial reporting processes
  • Preparing and reviewing journals, accruals, reconciliations and financial analysis
  • Overseeing inventory accounting, stock reconciliations, landed costs and margin reporting
  • Managing fixed asset accounting and capital expenditure reporting
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting and management reporting activities
  • Coordinating GST, BAS and statutory compliance requirements
  • Assisting with year-end audit preparation and liaising with external auditors
  • Reviewing payroll accounting and employee entitlement reconciliations
  • Driving process improvements, reporting enhancements and finance system optimisation
  • Providing mentorship and guidance to junior finance team members

What you'll need to succeed

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or Commerce
  • CPA or CA qualification (or working towards completion)
  • Proven experience in a Senior Accountant, Financial Accountant or similar role
  • Strong month-end accounting, reporting and reconciliation experience
  • Experience within manufacturing, distribution, importing or other inventory-focused environments
  • Sound knowledge of inventory accounting, costing and stock controls
  • Strong understanding of Australian taxation requirements, GST and BAS
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills
  • A proactive approach with a focus on continuous improvement
