Senior Hairdresser

Meli’s Enterprises Pty Ltd t/as Meli’s Haircuts is seeking a Senior Hairdresser. Based in Moggill, Brisbane, the Senior Hairdresser is responsible for providing a high standard of professional hairdressing services to a diverse clientele and contributing to the salon’s reputation within the local community. The Senior Hairdresser will deliver personalised styling and hairdressing services to a broad Australian clientele, while also supporting the salon’s distinctive approach to contemporary and culturally inspired Indonesian hair styling for formal occasions and other special events. This role will contribute to maintaining high standards of service, client satisfaction, and professional practice.

This is a permanent full-time position for the successful candidate. This role will be remunerated at $80,000 p.a. in addition to guaranteed superannuation.

Position requirements

The successful candidate must hold a relevant Certificate III Qualification in Hairdressing or higher, together with at least 2 years’ full-time work experience or equivalent part-time experience. They will be responsible for the following tasks and duties:

Professional Hairdressing

1. Provide professional hair cutting, styling, blow-drying, and finishing services for both men and women.
2. Undertake hair preparation, washing, and conditioning appropriate to the client’s requirements.
3. Provide colouring, treatment, and other hairdressing services
4. Conduct client consultations and recommend appropriate styles and treatments.
5. Assess hair type, condition, texture, and suitability for proposed styling.
6. Maintain high standards of hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety.
7. Use salon equipment, tools, and products safely and correctly.
8. Provide styling for weddings, engagement ceremonies, cultural celebrations, formal occasions, and other special events.
9. Work with traditional hair accessories, ornaments, and decorative elements where required.
10. Create traditional Indonesian hairstyles using appropriate techniques, structure, and finishing methods.

Client Service

1. Deliver a professional, welcoming, and culturally respectful client experience.
2. Build strong relationships with clients.
3. Clearly explain recommended services, styling options, and maintenance requirements.
4. Maintain client confidentiality and professional standards.
5. Encourage repeat business through quality service and professional client care.

Senior Responsibilities

1. Act as a senior member of the salon team and provide technical support to other stylists.
2. Assist junior stylists with hairdressing and styling techniques where appropriate.
3. Demonstrate high standards of professional conduct and salon presentation.
