We are seeking a Senior Health and Safety Advisor to assist our Goonyella project on an 8/6 roster.

About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Health & Safety Advisor to join our Goonyella team on a full-time permanent basis. Reporting to the HST Superintendent, you will assist and support the Health and Safety function in the implementation, coordination and effectiveness of all functional health and safety issues at the mine.
You will be responsible for ensuring the Health and Safety systems are compliant with the site Safety and Health Management System (SHMS), legislation and standards and work to continuously improve the safety culture and performance of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitating safety investigations (ICAM), preparing reports and recommendations and implementing corrective and preventative actions
• Facilitation of Risk Assessments and mentoring of the risk assessment process to front line and middle management
• Identification of safety issues and problems, ensuring corrective action is taken and monitored
• Conducting regular audits, workplace inspections, critical control observations and field leadership activities, and providing guidance and coaching on improving safety practices
• Facilitating workplace rehabilitation and return-to-work programs for injured workers in consultation with medical practitioners
• Assisting with maintaining and complying with the site SHMS including providing recommendations to the client
• Communicating to employees on project performance as well as broader corporate departments with regards to health and safety performance
About You:
• Formal H&S Qualifications in WHS / Risk / Hygiene preferred (Diploma WHS / OHS minimum)
• G 1,8,9 Certificate (formally S 1,2,3)
• G2 Certificate
• Rehabilitation and Return to Work competency
• Incident Investigation Qualification (ICAM Facilitator)
• Lead Auditor Qualification (RABQSA or Diploma of Quality Auditing) (desirable)

Goonyella
Located in the Bowen Basin of Central Queensland, BMA’s Goonyella Mine is one of Queensland’s largest coal mines. It is situated approximately 30 kilometres from the town of Moranbah.
BUMA Australia provides labour, supervision, technical support and mobile plant to perform truck and excavator pre-strip operations.
