Hays are excited to be partnering with a leading local South Eastern Council to recruit an experienced Senior Landscape Architect. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in the design, project management and delivery of innovative public open spaces, streetscapes and community infrastructure projects that will have a lasting impact on the local community.
About the RoleAs the Senior Landscape Architect, you will be responsible for delivering contemporary, sustainable and engaging public realm projects from concept through to completion. Working closely with internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors and the community, you will help shape vibrant public spaces that enhance the municipality for years to come.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of streetscape, park and public open space projects.
  • Prepare concept designs, masterplans, site plans and cost estimates.
  • Manage consultants and contractors, including procurement, tendering and contract administration.
  • Oversee project budgets, timelines and quality outcomes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Undertake community consultation and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Prepare reports, presentations and funding submissions.
  • Monitor construction activities and ensure compliance with relevant standards and OH&S requirements.
  • Drive innovative and sustainable design solutions across public realm projects.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Degree qualification in Landscape Architecture, Urban Design or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering landscape architecture, open space or public realm projects.
  • Strong design and technical documentation skills, including masterplans and detailed landscape designs.
  • Proven project management and contract administration experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office. SketchUp experience will be highly regarded.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, consultation and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, budgets and competing priorities.
  • Knowledge of contemporary landscape architecture, urban design principles and relevant legislation
