About the Role:
The School of Accounting, Economics and Finance is seeking to appoint a continuing academic in Accounting at Senior Lecturer (ALC).
Our Accounting courses are continuously refined to ensure they remain relevant, offering students a stimulating and intellectually rigorous educational experience. The School is committed to fostering integrious and respectful academic collegiality and teamwork, aiming to produce impactful research in Accounting and to advance innovative teaching practices.
The successful applicant will deliver innovative Accounting courses, support an ambitious research agenda, and contribute to a stimulating and research-informed learning environment for students and colleagues. They will be encouraged to engage with industry stakeholders, pursue research funding opportunities, and participate in multidisciplinary projects where appropriate.

Some Key Responsibilities will include:

• Deliver high-quality and innovative teaching to undergraduate and postgraduate students across a range of modes and levels.
• Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing reflective improvement in teaching and promote excellence in teaching practice among colleagues.
• Develop and lead pedagogically innovative curriculum and learning experiences.
• Contribute to academic service, collegiality and engagement within the School, Faculty and University.
• Publish in high-quality refereed journals/outlets in a manner consistent with the expectations of the discipline of Accounting.
• Actively seek to participate in applications for competitive research grants and/or industry grants.
• Significantly contribute to external activities relevant to the Accounting discipline/profession and community engagement.
• Significantly contribute to professional, industry and community engagement activities relevant to the Accounting discipline.
• Foster a collegial, respectful and supportive working environment consistent with Curtin's values.

Essential Criteria for Senior Lecturer (Accounting):

1. A doctoral qualification in Accounting.
2. An established record of achievement and commitment to excellence in teaching.
3. Demonstrated achievement in the discipline through the scholarly development and delivery of high-quality educational courses.
4. Experience in curriculum development, course coordination and the delivery of innovative learning experiences.
5. An established record of productive research outputs with regular publication in high-quality refereed academic journals consistent with a growing national and international reputation.
6. A demonstrated record of obtaining research income, including nationally competitive research grants, fellowships and/or industry-funded research.
7. Significant experience in the supervision of master's and doctoral research students.
8. Demonstrated academic leadership experience, including mentoring colleagues and contributing to School, Faculty or University initiatives.
9. Demonstrated high-level communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to foster a collegial and supportive working environment and interact effectively with students, staff and external stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
10. Demonstrated commitment to applying relevant policies, procedures and legislation in the day-to-day performance of the role.

Role Requirements:

1. As this is a continuing (permanent) role, applicants must hold permanent work rights in Australia. Sponsorship may only be considered in limited circumstances.

The School of Accounting, Economics and Finance is known for its excellence in teaching and the practical, applied nature of its courses and research. The School consists of four disciplines, namely, Accounting, Economics, Finance and Property, with approximately sixty-five staff. The School prides itself on its industry-relevant education programs, impactful research and internationally recognised expertise in Accounting, Economics, Finance and Property.

This full time continuous ALC level role attracts a remuneration of $148,847 - $171,344 + 17% superannuation.
