An outstanding opportunity has arisen for an experienced commercial lawyer to join a high-performing in-house legal team supporting one of Australia’s most significant and complex businesses.

About the role

Working within a collaborative and commercially focused legal function, you will advise on a range of corporate and operational matters that are critical to the organisation’s ongoing growth and success.

This is a broad and engaging commercial role that will see you advising on a diverse range of matters including strategic transactions, major commercial contracts, joint ventures, partnerships, technology and data arrangements, marketing activities, regulatory issues and dispute resolution matters. Working closely with senior leaders across the business, you will provide pragmatic, commercially focused advice that supports key strategic initiatives and helps drive successful business outcomes.

You will enjoy a high degree of autonomy while partnering with stakeholders across a range of business functions. You will negotiate complex commercial arrangements, manage legal risk, oversee external legal advisers and contribute to business-wide projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

The role offers variety, meaningful stakeholder engagement, and exposure to high-profile commercial matters in a sophisticated and fast-paced environment.

About you

The successful candidate will have at least 7 years’ PQE and experience in commercial contracting, negotiations, and legal advisory work. You will be commercially astute, solutions focused and capable of building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders while managing competing priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills, sound judgement and a collaborative approach are essential.
