The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Investment Analytics to join their Investment Management team in Sydney. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for delivering sophisticated analysis of investment outcomes, monitoring portfolio effectiveness and providing strategic insights to senior leadership and governance committees. You will serve as a trusted subject matter expert, translating complex investment dynamics into clear, actionable intelligence that informs capital allocation and investment decision-making.

Key Accountabilities

• Develop and maintain rigorous analytical frameworks for evaluating investment returns, identifying return drivers and assessing portfolio success against strategic objectives.
• Conduct comprehensive analysis of investment outcomes across asset classes, investigating performance trends and communicating findings to senior stakeholders.
• Lead independent assessments of external investment managers, evaluating consistency of outcomes, risk management practices and value delivery across mandates.
• Design and deliver investment reporting and governance materials that support board and committee decision-making.
• Mentor and develop investment team members, fostering analytical rigour, strategic thinking and a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Champion enhancements to analytical tools, data architecture and reporting systems that elevate investment insights and operational efficiency.

Ideal Experience

• Significant background in quantitative investment analysis, portfolio assessment or investment oversight within institutional settings such as superannuation, life insurance, asset management or wealth management.
• Expertise in assessing and explaining investment performance outcomes, with strong foundation in investment markets and portfolio construction principles.
• Proven track record presenting complex analytical findings to non-technical audiences and influencing investment decisions at senior levels.
• Experience managing and evaluating external investment partnerships, with demonstrated ability to assess manager performance and mandate effectiveness.
