An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Payroll Officer to take full ownership of the payroll function on an immediate-start basis, reporting to the Finance Manager . This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys autonomy. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing end-to-end payroll across multiple entities on both monthly and fortnightly cycles
- Processing new starters, terminations and employee variations accurately and on time
- Calculating pays, overtime, allowances, penalties and loadings in line with Modern Awards and legislation
- Administering all leave types, including annual, personal, parental and long service leave
- Preparing and reconciling payroll journals and reporting for the finance team
- Managing STP, PAYG, superannuation and payroll tax obligations
- Responding to employee payroll queries and partnering with People & Culture on workforce changes
- Supporting process and system improvements that strengthen payroll controls and efficiency
To be considered for this role you will have 3–4 years' end-to-end payroll experience, along with strong working knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and Modern Awards. You'll be confident preparing payroll journals and reconciliations, comfortable managing competing deadlines across multiple pay cycles, and skilled in Excel. Above all, you'll bring sharp attention to detail, a proactive mindset and the ability to work independently.
