The role

Symal Group has entered a Joint Venture partnership with the intent to deliver a major utility-scale Solar Farm and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Victoria.

We're seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager, with a proven track record of delivering solar farm projects to play a critical leadership role in the successful delivery of this nationally significant project.

Reporting Senior Management, you'll lead major workstreams across engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning activities while overseeing project teams, subcontractors, OEMs and key stakeholders. You'll be responsible for ensuring the safe, commercial and operational success of the project while maintaining programme certainty and driving strong project outcomes.

This is a unique opportunity to work on a project of major significance, helping shape delivery strategies and contributing to one of Australia's largest renewable energy developments.

Your everyday

• Lead the delivery of major project packages across solar, BESS, civil, electrical and high-voltage infrastructure works.
• Manage project budgets, forecasting, procurement activities, subcontractor performance and commercial outcomes.
• Oversee consultants, OEMs and delivery partners to ensure project milestones, quality standards and contractual obligations are achieved.
• Coordinate engineering, design, procurement and construction teams to drive programme performance and project success.
• Support grid connection, testing and commissioning activities, including engagement with AEMO, TNSPs and key regulatory stakeholders.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, JV partners, consultants, authorities and suppliers.
• Identify and manage project risks, opportunities, variations and commercial issues throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead, mentor and develop Project Engineers, Site Managers and wider delivery teams while fostering a high-performance project culture.

Who are you?

• Demonstrated Contractor side delivery experience on utility-scale Solar Farm projects is a must, with BESS experience highly regarded.
• Significant experience delivering large-scale renewable energy, electrical infrastructure, transmission or major civil infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of EPC project delivery, commercial management, procurement and contract administration.
• Experience managing major subcontractors, international OEMs and complex stakeholder environments.
• Proven track record delivering projects safely, on programme and within budget.
• Strong leadership capability with experience managing high-performing project teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of a project.
