Senior Clinical Speech Pathologist - Lilydale Community Team - Infant Child and Youth Mental Health Service

About the role

The Infant, Child and Youth Mental Health Service (ICYMHS) Community Teams are multidisciplinary teams delivering specialist mental health assessment and therapeutic interventions to young people aged 4 to 25 years experiencing a range of mental health concerns, significant distress, and psychosocial challenges.

As part of the Lilydale Community Team, you will work within a collaborative, recovery-oriented service that partners closely with young people, their families, supporters, and broader care systems to provide holistic and evidence-based mental health care.

In this Senior Speech Pathologist role, you will provide specialist speech pathology assessment, consultation, and intervention for young people receiving care through the team. You will collaborate with young people, their families, and key stakeholders to develop recommendations and support positive therapeutic outcomes that enhance communication, participation, and overall wellbeing.

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Recognised tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology and eligibility for practicing membership of Speech Pathology Australia including demonstrated evidence of professional development activities equivalent to Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist requirements.
  • Demonstrated capacity to inspire, influence, lead and motivate staff and to contribute to a positive and compassionate organisational culture. 
  • A high level of analytical thinking and investigative skills involving research & quality improvement activities, benchmarking and resource identification, including innovative, service delivery models 
  • Experience in assessment and delivery of assessment in one-to-one models for clients. 
  • Demonstrated capacity to utilise a parent capacity building model 
  • Demonstrated capacity to conduct supervision with students, and to provide coaching, mentoring or peer support.

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role, and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
