Senior Technical Business Analyst - Brisbane - Hybrid - Infrastructure and Security Program
Your new company
Hays has partnered with a large, complex public sector organisation delivering a significant program of infrastructure and security modernisation. They are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Business Analyst to support a broad portfolio of initiatives spanning networks, cyber security, cloud and on-premises infrastructure, monitoring and observability, resilience and operational transformation.
Your new role
As the Senior Technical Business Analyst, you will work closely with the Senior Project Manager, Infrastructure & Security Domain Architect, Solution Architects, engineers and operational stakeholders to translate complex business, technical and operational needs into clear and actionable requirements.A key focus of the role will be the development of complex business cases for significant infrastructure and security initiatives, including options analysis, benefits, costs, risks, dependencies and high-level Total Cost of Ownership considerations.You will also be responsible for:
- Eliciting and documenting functional and non-functional requirements
- Developing current-state and future-state process and system documentation
- Maintaining requirements traceability across design, build, testing and implementation
- Supporting solution options analysis and evaluating technical and operational impacts
- Contributing to operational plans and investment cases
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have significant experience as a Technical Business Analyst delivering complex ICT initiatives, with a strong background in infrastructure and/or security projects. Critically, you will also bring proven experience developing comprehensive business cases for major technology initiatives.You will ideally demonstrate:
- Significant experience developing complex business cases and investment-related documentation
- Strong technical BA experience across complex ICT programs
- Knowledge of networks and connectivity, cyber security and identity
- Exposure to cloud and on-premises infrastructure platforms
- Understanding of monitoring, logging and observability tooling
- Knowledge of disaster recovery, resilience and service continuity considerations
- Strong functional and non-functional requirements experience
- Experience developing process models, requirements specifications and supporting artefacts
- Strong stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation skills
- The ability to work effectively with architects, engineers and other technical specialists
- Experience within large, complex organisations, with public sector experience highly regarded
- A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Project Management or a related discipline.
