Shipping Manager

About the Role:
We are recruiting a Shipping Manager to be based at our Spring Hill office on a permanent, full-time basis.

This role oversees the shipping function, managing end-to-end coordination of customer shipments and the performance and development of the Shipping Officer team. You will combine operational oversight with team leadership to ensure efficient shipping across the region and support team growth.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Leadership & Team Management

• Manage, mentor, and develop the Shipping Officer team, including performance management and training.
• Establish priorities and workflows to ensure timely and accurate processing of shipping orders.
• Act as an escalation point for complex shipping issues and customer matters.

Operational Oversight

• Oversee shipping arrangements, coordinating with shipping lines, transport companies, rendering plants, and customers.
• Ensure accurate entry of shipping and vessel data in the database.
• Supervise order processing and allocation to packing sites.
• Monitor production levels to ensure timely processing of shipping orders, allocations, and instructions.
• Monitor and drive continuous improvement of freight operations across all regions.
• Manage relationships with key shipping lines, transport providers, and logistics partners.
• Report shipping performance, costs, and issues to senior management.

About you:

• Previous experience in shipping, export documentation, or logistics leadership or supervisory roles is essential.
• Proven experience leading or supervising teams, with strong people management skills.
• Exceptional customer service and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to perform well under pressure and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to maintain high accuracy while managing competing priorities.
• Excellent time management, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Strong administrative, logistics, and data entry skills.
• Ability to work independently and lead a team.
