About the Role
Moving Victoria is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Software Tester to assess, test and improve the functionality, reliability and performance of its digital systems and software applications.
The successful applicant will be responsible for conducting software testing, identifying defects, validating system functionality and ensuring that business applications operate effectively and meet operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse software and system requirements to develop appropriate test plans, test scenarios and test cases.
- Conduct functional testing of software applications, online booking systems and quotation platforms.
- Test customer registration, enquiry submission, booking and job management workflows.
- Perform system integration testing to ensure different software components and applications operate correctly.
- Identify, document, investigate and report software defects, errors and system inconsistencies.
- Conduct regression testing following software updates, modifications and defect fixes.
- Perform compatibility testing across different browsers, operating systems and devices.
- Validate data accuracy, system responses and information processing across business applications.
- Prepare detailed test reports documenting testing outcomes, defects and recommended corrective actions.
- Work with developers and relevant stakeholders to investigate technical issues and verify software improvements.
- Conduct user acceptance testing to ensure applications meet business and operational requirements.
- Recommend improvements to software functionality, usability, reliability and overall system performance.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
- Relevant experience in software testing or quality assurance.
- Knowledge of software testing methodologies and testing life cycles.
- Experience preparing test plans, test cases and defect reports.
- Understanding of functional, integration and regression testing.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
