Ace Civil Pty Ltd currently has a vacancy for the position of Solid Plasterer. Our company is located in South Granville, NSW. Founded in Sydney, Australia in 2018, Ace is a full-service early works contractor working in the construction industry. Services include Asbestos Removal, Demolition, Earthworks, Civil Works, Piling, Shoring Systems and Contaminated Site Management.
The company is situated within the corporate structure of the Ace Group. Our corporate group is a large-scale employer in the building and construction industry and has management of numerous construction projects. Key tasks and responsibilities of the role:
- Preparing preliminary sketches, working drawings and specifications;
- Inspecting plastering materials for satisfactory standards;
- Apply and fix plasterboard partitions, composite wall linings and ceilings;
- Apply internal and external decorative and protective finishing and coverings;
- Measuring, marking, cutting and installing panels of plasterboard, including securing to walls, ceilings and battens;
- Preparing and fixing pre-cast cornices, panel mouldings, ceiling centres and other plaster fittings;
- Prepare and patch surfaces, plumbing corners and angles;
- Mixing and applying coats of plaster, cement and render;
- Design colours and match existing finishes;
- Acoustic, insulating and fireproofing installations;
- Repair and renovate structures and fixtures;
- Calculating costs and estimating time scales, ordering materials and supplying to site in accordance with work programs;
- Competent usage of required equipment and hand tools;
- Carrying out quality assurance checks and repairs, including defect rectification works.
Key skills and experience required:
- AQF Certificate IV or AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or alternatively, three years of relevant experience may substitute for formal qualifications (with overseas obtained qualifications being considered where the qualification is assessed as suitable);
- One year of work experience in the occupation or three years where applicant relies on work experience in lieu of formal qualifications;
- Proficiency in the English language;
- Excellent communication – both written and verbal;
- Strong understanding of workplace WHS procedures.
We currently have a number of vacancies for the position of Solid Plasterer. The salary level on offer for the position is $85,000.00 per annum plus superannuation.
