Consultant Paediatrician – General Paediatrics

Location: Albany, Western Australia

Employment Type: Fixed-Term Part-Time (0.8 FTE)

Salary: $412,161 - $523,436 p.a. pro rata (inclusive of super & professional development allowance)

Start Date: 8 July 2026 - 30 April 2027

About the Role

Provide inpatient, outpatient, neonatal, developmental, and community paediatric services across the Great Southern region. Work within a multidisciplinary team, contribute to service development, and support education and supervision of junior staff. International candidates can be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver general paediatric and neonatal care.
  • Participate in outpatient and community services.
  • Contribute to the paediatric on-call roster.
  • Supervise and teach junior medical staff.
  • Support quality improvement and service development.

Essential Criteria

  • Specialist registration (or eligibility) with AHPRA.
  • FRACP (Paediatrics & Child Health) or equivalent.
  • Experience in acute, neonatal, and developmental paediatrics.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.

There is a 10 bed maternity ward, which handles some 450 deliveries per year, and a 10 bed paediatric ward.
