Trades Assistant – Stores & Workshop

Location: Archerfield, Brisbane QLD

About the OpportunityWe’re seeking a hands-on Trades Assistant to join a busy team based in Archerfield. This is a varied, permanent opportunity combining warehouse and stores responsibilities with practical workshop duties.

Once fully trained, the role will be split approximately 50/50 between stores operations and workshop support, making it ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of organisation, materials handling and mechanical work.

What’s on Offer?

• $67,354 base salary ($34.09 per hour)
• Full-time, permanent employment
• 5 weeks of annual leave
• Overtime paid at double time from the first 15 minutes
• Annual bonus opportunity of up to 6 weeks’ base salary, based on company and individual KPI performance

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive, receipt, organise and dispatch incoming and outgoing goods
• Maintain stock control and assist with general stores operations
• Use computer systems to manage inventory and process goods
• Operate forklifts and assist with materials handling

Workshop Support:

• Assist tradespeople with general mechanical and workshop tasks
• Operate overhead cranes and assist with materials handling
• Undertake general crane operations and mechanical duties
• Assist with spray painting and other hands-on workshop tasks
• Maintain a safe, organised and efficient working environment

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• A current forklift licence
• Previous overhead crane operating experience
• Dogging experience or relevant certification will be highly regarded
• Good computer skills, ideally with experience using inventory or stock control systems
• Previous experience receiving, handling and dispatching goods
• Strong mechanical aptitude and a practical, hands-on approach
• Spray painting experience will be advantageous
