Remuneration:Stream A, Level 6 - 7: $126,329.64 - $144,043.14  per annum inclusive of superannuation & locality allowance

Central Highlands Regional Council has an exciting opportunity for a Strategic Projects Advisor to join our Office of the CEO based in Emerald. We are looking for a proactive and experienced individual to project manage a variety of strategic projects that will positively support the Central Highlands Region.

As the Strategic Projects Advisor, you will provide high‑level support and advice to the CEO on strategic initiatives influencing the future of the Central Highlands. You will work across the organisation and with external stakeholders to identify opportunities, develop strategic responses, and drive endorsed projects from concept to completion.

You will play a key role in project development, stakeholder engagement, strategic planning, and preparing high‑quality reports and submissions. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys complex problem-solving, and excels at building strong relationships.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to possess:

  • Minimum of five years’ experience working in a project environment or being responsible for the delivery of projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and develop effective external stakeholder relationships.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication and highly developed presentation skills.
  • Program and project development experience derived from conceptual initiatives.
  • Capable of overseeing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Previous experience in preparing submissions.
  • High level of professionalism, confidentiality, integrity, and judgement.
  • Highly competent in the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent extensive experience in business case development in a large complex organisation 
  • Minimum of a Queensland class C provisional drivers’ licence
