genU is looking for Casual Support Workers who can team up with our customers to help them unleash their full potential. You will be making a real impact by helping people with disabilities through accommodation and community engagement.

Please apply if you: 

  • Have availability 2-3 weekdays per week (excluding weekends)
  • Willing to work 2 - 5 hour shifts
  • Can do early starts and late finishes 

What you’ll do

  • Support person-centred plans that identify a customer’s life goals and working to achieve them
  • Join customers in the community and do recreational activities, willing to drive vans and take customers swimming advantageous
  • Support customers in daily living skills such as meal preparation, housekeeping, showering and toileting, medication administration and attending appointments
  • Ensure positive behaviour support plans are followed; and
  • Administration duties and mandatory reporting

What you’ll bring

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships
  • Able to work Overnight Sleep Shifts (advantageous)
  • Personal experience or willingness to assist with personal care and domestic duties experience
  • Extensive experience in supporting customers with behavioural support plans (desirable)
  • Extensive experience working with challenging behaviours (desirable)
  • Ability to follow Person Centred plans and assist people to achieve their goals and outcomes
  • An understanding and enthusiasm for working alongside people with disabilities
  • A valid drivers licence and willingness to use your private vehicle (aligned with genU motor vehicle allowance rebate).

Bonus points for

  • Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability or Higher [CHC33021, CHC33015, CHC43121, CHC43115]
