Our client is a respected, employee-owned national consultancy with offices across Australia. They deliver engineering, environment, urban development, and construction solutions across public and private sectors, with expertise spanning water, waste, transport, natural resources, buildings, public works, and land development.
They are seeking an experienced Civil Team Lead to lead their Brisbane-based civil team and support continued growth across Queensland.
You’ll join a collaborative, close-knit team that values technical excellence, practical thinking, and strong client outcomes.
We are looking for a leader or someone willing to step up to a leadership position. Ideally you would have 7+ years’ experience delivering civil engineering projects in consulting.
Preferably you know how to lead teams, win work, manage clients, and operate with autonomy in a competitive market.
You will also bring:
- Tertiary qualification in Civil/Structural/Environmental Engineering, Project Management, Environmental Science, or related field
- Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills with a network in QLD or East Coast Australia
- Commercially savvy, with strong contractual, and regulatory frameworks knowledge
- Comfortable leading teams and managing multi-disciplinary projects
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
About the role
As Civil Team Lead – Brisbane, you’ll lead and grow the civil team while driving project delivery, client relationships, commercial performance, and new business.
You’ll strengthen an established Brisbane team, oversee civil project outcomes, support financial and operational performance, manage risk, and help build the consultancy’s presence across Brisbane and Queensland.
We’re seeking a commercially minded self-starter who can uncover opportunities, secure work, and build trusted client relationships.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and support civil project delivery across Brisbane and Queensland.
- Guide, mentor, and coordinate the civil team day to day.
- Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to proposals, tenders, and work-winning activity.
- Manage project resourcing, budgets, risks, timelines, and quality outcomes.
- Support team planning, performance, and commercial results.
- Promote a collaborative, accountable, and client-focused team culture.
