Join a world leader in mechanical component regeneration

R. Moore & Sons (RMS) is a globally recognised leader in the regeneration and remanufacturing of mechanical components for heavy industry. Established in 1920, RMS has built a reputation for innovation, resourcefulness, precision and quality workmanship.

We're now looking for a motivated and reliable Trade Assistant to join our experienced team in Kewdale.

This is a practical role suited to someone who enjoys working with their hands, takes pride in keeping a workshop organised and wants to build their skills within a highly experienced team.

About the role

As a Trade Assistant, you'll play an important hands-on role in supporting our machine shop and tradespeople.

Your day-to-day work will include:

  • Assisting tradespeople with day-to-day workshop and production tasks
  • Handling, moving and delivering components between work areas
  • Supporting engine component refurbishment and hands-on production work
  • Loading and unloading materials, tools and components as required
  • Helping maintain machinery, tooling and workshop equipment
  • Keeping work areas clean, organised and maintained to 5S standards
  • Assisting with job planning, reporting and documentation
  • Identifying and reporting hazards and maintaining strong WHS practices
  • Supporting general workshop maintenance as required
  • Working as part of the team to meet customer requirements and delivery

About you

We're looking for someone with a strong work ethic who is reliable, safety-conscious and willing to get stuck in. Previous experience in a trade or industrial environment would be highly regarded, although it isn't essential if you have the right attitude and willingness to learn.

You will need to be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, have good time-management skills and be able to adapt when priorities change. An ability to identify hazards, think through problems and communicate effectively with others is important in this role.

A current driver's licence is required, while a Class DG High Risk Work licence is desirable but not essential. Knowledge of engine components or previous mechanical experience would also be advantageous.

Why join RMS?

At RMS, you're joining a business with a long history, a strong team culture and a genuine focus on developing its people.

We can offer:

  • $34-$37 per hour, depending on experience
  • 38-hour week, Monday-Friday
  • Flexible start and finish times
  • Opportunity for overtime as business requirements dictate
  • Long-term opportunity within an established industry leader
  • Hands-on experience within a specialist mechanical refurbishment environment
  • Supportive team culture and strong family values
  • Opportunities to develop your trade and technical knowledge

If you're looking for a hands-on role where you can learn, contribute and become part of a team that takes real pride in its work, we'd like to hear from you.
