Are you an experienced Transport Engineer looking for your next opportunity within local government? Were currently working with a metropolitan council in Melbournes south-east to recruit a motivated professional to join their team on a casual basis.

Your new role
This position has become available due to a team member commencing family leave. Youll play a key role in supporting the transport team with a variety of operational and assessment-based responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to resident requests and transport-related enquiries
- Prepare notices, correspondence and internal memos
- Conduct site inspections and provide recommendations
- Assess town planning applications from a transport perspective
What you'll need to succeed
- A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering (or equivalent extensive experience)
- Demonstrated experience working within local government (essential)
- Background in transport engineering, traffic engineering, or a related discipline
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with internal stakeholders and the community
- A proactive approach and willingness to work collaboratively within a team environment
What you'll get in return
- Contract:Initial 3-month contract with the view to extend
- Hourly Rate:Paying between $55$60 p/h + super
