Venue Manager - Operations and Banqueting

Our client, is seeking an experienced Venue Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of their hospitality venue. This is a permanent, full-time role offering a competitive salary of AUD$90,000 to AUD$110,000. You'll oversee a team of 20, manage rosters and stock, handle cash and banking, and ensure smooth operations from opening to close. This is a hands-on leadership position where your operational expertise and team management skills will directly shape the venue's success.

• Lead and manage a team of 20 staff across rosters, training, and performance
• Own all operational responsibilities including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and banking
• Oversee a very busy events/function space with multiple events per week

Preferred Requirements

• Proven experience managing hospitality venues or similar operational environments
• Very solid organizational and time management skills
• Expereience in a busy events space and managing multiple offerings at the same time
• Strong team leadership and people management skills, with experience managing teams of 15 or more
• Solid understanding of stock control, ordering, and stocktake procedures
• Detailed in all aspects of ordering and stock control and understanding of catering/banqueting run sheets to ensure all items are on hand
• Are very solid with all aspects of finanance and reporting as well as cash handling and reconciliations
• Ability to manage rosters, scheduling, and day-to-day operational logistics

Preferred Qualifications

• Hospitality management qualification or equivalent industry experience
• RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certification
• Experience with venue management systems, booking systems and POS systems
