We are currently seeking a Veterinary Nurse to join the team! You will be responsible for supporting veterinarians in the delivery of high-quality animal care through clinical nursing, surgical and diagnostic assistance, patient monitoring, treatment administration, client communication, and maintaining a safe and hygienic veterinary environment. This position is a full-time ongoing position, working 38 hours per week based in Allambie Heights, NSW.
Main tasks:
- Assisting veterinarians during consultations, examinations, and surgical procedures
- Preparing animals and surgical equipment for routine and emergency procedures
- Monitoring patients before, during, and after anaesthesia and surgery
- Administering medications and treatments under veterinary direction
- Providing nursing care and monitoring for hospitalised animals
- Collecting and preparing laboratory samples for diagnostic testing
- Assisting with radiography and other diagnostic procedures
- Maintaining infection control, sterilisation, and cleanliness standards throughout the clinic
- Handling and restraining animals safely and appropriately
- Maintaining accurate clinical records and patient histories
- Communicating with clients regarding animal care, treatment plans, and post-operative instructions
- Assisting with reception and general administrative duties when required
- Maintaining veterinary supplies and equipment within the practice
Required/Relevant Qualifications & Work Experience:
- Minimum of a relevant Certificate III or IV, or higher qualification
- At least 3 years' relevant industry experience
Required/Relevant Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong communication and customer service skills, able to develop lasting relationships with clients.
- A positive attitude, good teamwork, and a commitment to high-quality care.
Annual salary will be between $79,000.00 to $89,000.00 (plus superannuation) depending on level of experience.
