The Opportunity

As a Veterinary Nurse, you'll be part of a dynamic, supportive team working alongside experienced specialists and emergency clinicians. No two days are the same, with opportunities to build your skills across anaesthesia, oncology, internal medicine, hospital and emergency care.

You'll be involved in a diverse range of cases, from routine procedures through to complex and critically ill patients, providing hands-on nursing care, assisting with diagnostics and treatment plans, supporting anaesthesia and recovery, and delivering high-quality patient care throughout their hospital stay. This is a fantastic opportunity to expand your clinical skills and knowledge, work with a variety of challenging and rewarding cases, and learn from a highly experienced team.

Full-time, part-time and casual positions are available. Whatever suits your availability, we're open to discussing flexible arrangements with the right candidate.

Day shifts only – full time over 4 days

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to hospitalised patients
  • Assist with diagnostics, procedures and treatments
  • Monitor patients before, during and after procedures
  • Administer medications and treatments
  • Maintain accurate patient records
  • Support infection control and hospital hygiene
  • Communicate professionally with clients and colleagues
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture

About You

You'll bring:

  • Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3 years vet nursing experience
  • Strong clinical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to stay calm and organised in a busy environment
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Compassion for patients, clients and colleagues

Specialist or emergency experience is highly regarded .

Physical Requirements

This is a hands-on role involving:

  • Lifting, moving, transferring and repositioning animals of varying sizes and weights
  • Handling and restraining large, painful, distressed or non-ambulatory patients
  • Performing CPR and assisting during clinical emergencies
  • Standing, walking, bending, kneeling and reaching for extended periods
  • Manual handling and use of required PPE

These requirements are inherent to the role. Reasonable adjustments will be considered where appropriate, provided the inherent requirements can continue to be safely performed.
