What You Will Be Working On

Reporting to the Area Manager, your priorities will include:

• Building trusted relationships with residents, families and resident committees, and resolving concerns fairly.
• Leading and developing your team through clear expectations, coaching and regular feedback.
• Managing budgets, reporting on financial performance and delivering the village improvement plan.
• Coordinating preventative maintenance, refurbishments and asset improvements with contractors and specialist teams.
• Supporting smooth resident arrivals and departures, wellbeing activities and local community engagement.
• Maintaining safe operations, managing risks and meeting legislative and compliance requirements.

This role requires an ongoing onsite presence in Laurieton. At times, you may need to respond to urgent operational matters or emergencies outside normal working hours.

What Type Of Person Will Be Successful

You’re an approachable leader who follows through, handles challenging conversations calmly and balances residents’ needs with operational priorities.

You’ll bring:

• Previous team leadership experience and an operational background in retirement living, property or asset management, facilities management, hospitality or another service industry.
• Confidence managing budgets, reviewing financial performance and coordinating maintenance and service providers.
• Experience resolving complaints and managing customer, resident or committee relationships.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and the ability to access and interpret information from business systems.

Three to five years’ relevant industry experience, knowledge of retirement village or related property legislation, and relevant qualifications or equivalent practical experience would be highly regarded.
