Our client is a regional local government organisation committed to delivering essential services and infrastructure to communities across Central Queensland. With a strong focus on safety, reliability and community outcomes, they are seeking a motivated Water Treatment Plant Operator to support the delivery of safe and reliable drinking water services throughout the region
Your new role
Based primarily in Alpha/Jericho, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation, monitoring and maintenance of water treatment facilities, ensuring water quality consistently meets required standards.This hands-on role will include routine plant inspections, water quality testing, chemical dosing, monitoring treatment processes and carrying out general plant maintenance. You will also identify and respond to operational issues while supporting reliable water services across the region. Regional travel and work may be required from time to timeWhat you'll need to succeed

Previous experience in water treatment, utilities, process operations or a similar environment Knowledge of water treatment plant operations and processes Strong commitment to workplace health and safety Ability to complete routine water quality testing and monitoring Experience undertaking basic plant and equipment maintenance Strong problem-solving skills and ability to respond to operational issues Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team Good communication and record-keeping skills Current Driver's Licence Relevant water treatment qualifications or experience will be highly regarded Willingness to undertake regional travel as required
