Role Overview
We’re looking for an experienced Work Health & Safety & Injury Management Coordinator to provide temporary support within a large and diverse organisation. This is a hands-on opportunity for a proactive WHS professional who enjoys working autonomously, building relationships and turning safety requirements into practical solutions.
You’ll take ownership of a broad range of WHS and injury management activities, from compliance and workplace inspections through to incident investigations, training, risk management and Return to Work processes. With a number of key initiatives already underway, you’ll have the opportunity to hit the ground running and see your work make a tangible difference.
About the Person
You’re an experienced WHS professional who is confident operating independently and comfortable working across a diverse organisation. You know how to balance compliance requirements with practical, people-focused solutions and can provide clear advice to managers, employees and other stakeholders.
You’ll be organised, proactive and comfortable managing multiple priorities at once. Most importantly, you’ll be someone who can build trust quickly, identify what needs to be done and get things moving.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and continuously improve WHS and Injury Management systems and processes
- Monitor compliance with relevant WHS legislation, regulations and organisational requirements
- Provide practical WHS and Injury Management advice to managers, employees and stakeholders
- Manage workplace incidents, hazards and near misses, including investigations and corrective actions
- Develop, review and maintain WHS policies, procedures, risk assessments and Safe Operating Procedures
- Coordinate WHS training programs and monitor compliance
- Coordinate contractor safety and compliance processes
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Demonstrated experience in a WHS and/or Injury Management role
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations and contemporary safety practices
- Experience managing workplace incidents, investigations and risk assessments
- Experience coordinating workers compensation and Return to Work processes
- Experience coordinating WHS training and consultation activities
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills
- WHS qualifications or relevant industry experience will be highly regarded
- Return to Work Coordinator experience or training will be advantageous
