Start your career in rail and construction with Protech’s Track & Trade Ready Program
Based in Beerburrum, Protech’s Track & Trade Ready Program is a paid traineeship designed to help women start a career in the construction and rail industries, with opportunities to work on major infrastructure projects.
No industry experience? No problem. This is a full-time entry pathway designed to give you the qualifications, tickets, practical skills and industry exposure you need to get started.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Earn while you learn through an Initial 16-week, full-time paid traineeship completing a Certificate I in Construction
- $28–$29 per hour, plus applicable overtime, daily travel and meal allowances
- Gain practical, hands-on experience while completing nationally recognised training
- Potential pathways following the initial program include:
- Certificate III traineeships in Civil Construction
- Certificate III traineeships in Rail Infrastructure / Rail Traction
- Civil Labourer roles
- Plant Operator roles
- Queensland Rail Recipient roles
The goal is not simply to complete a qualification. It is to give you a genuine pathway into a long-term career in rail or construction.
WHAT YOU WILL GAIN
During the program, you will have the opportunity to complete training and industry requirements including:
- Construction White Card
- Certificate I in Construction
- Accredited training including:
- Working as a Spotter
- Use of Hand and Power Tools
- Operate Small Plant
- Working at Heights
- Confined Space
- Life and employability skills
- Rail industry requirements and inductions including:
- WET
- SARC
- Category 3 Rail Medical
- RIW
- Queensland Rail Recipient Training
- All required PPE provided
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
You don’t need previous rail or construction experience. We’re looking for women who are reliable, motivated and ready to build a career in the industry.
To be eligible, you will need to:
- Be 18 years or older
- Hold a current driver’s licence and have access to reliable transport
- Be willing to undertake practical, hands-on work
- Be committed to completing the full 16-week program
- Be willing and able to successfully complete a pre-employment Drug & Alcohol Screen and Physical Assessment
Previous experience in manual or physically active work is an advantage, but not essential.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women are strongly encouraged to apply.
